I've long had a lot of confusion and misconceptions about Borderline Personality Disorder. Seems like anytime somebody was upset, impulsive, or just seemed to 'butt heads with people', they'd be labeled as having Borderline Personality Disorder. Recently, I made the acquaintance - and now a friendship - with a gentleman named Wes. He has always been upfront about his struggles with BPD and I thought he'd be a great guest to really help me dissect it: What's a definition of the disorder? How is it treated? How do you live with it and live your best life?
Wes was a thoughtful guest - first, he brought over some great Japanese pastry cakes and a coffee cup as a gift! NICE! But even better was that he was a thought provoking and well-spoken guest. He discusses how he was misdiagnosed, then finally correctly diagnosed with BPD. He details his success with Dialectical Behavior Therapy. He addresses misconceptions about BPD. And he was honest enough to talk about some of his experiences with hearing and seeing things that were not there - and how he's working through ALL of that!
